Good evening children of the orb and welcome to another installment of RPI news....tonite's first story has to do with the recent takeover of youtube by google.....as a heavy youtuber.....as well as a youtube artist I must admit that I too express fear at what the future of my online work will be.....this article centers on the youtube terms of service and although I have seen these things at work myself I will leave it to you to render judgment.......here is the article from msn.......

What we might lose from YouTube to GooTube
The Web should always be the place for challenging, disturbing material

The YouTube party might just be over.
For about a year we have enjoyed the weird and terribly fun video culture if offers. The ease with which people could post, watch, embed and link to videos created a phenomenon that certainly ranks among the top Internet experiences of all time
YouTube was more fun than chat, more creative than Napster, and more energized than just about any Web-based application out there............(full story)

Australia's Muslims fear backlash

A few weeks ago, I happened to interview Sheikh Taj el-Din al-Hilali outside the Lakemba Mosque in Sydney where he delivered his controversial sermon.

Sheikh Hilali referred more than once to the idea of "the Aussie imam", as he called it - model clerics with a broad knowledge of Australian culture and history. ...............(full story)

Gas Leak Causes Manhole Covers To Pop Off, Traffic Congestion

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Firefighters blocked off several blocks of busy downtown Baltimore streets on Thursday after two manhole covers blew off, and crews worked to find the source of an underground natural gas leak that caused headaches for rush-hour commuters.
Baltimore Gas and Electric crews were drilling holes in the ground above a 20-inch medium pressure main to find the location of the leak, but they still had not found it early Thursday evening.
"At this point, no idea how long that process is going to take," .............(full story w/video)
